Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction
This Acceptable Use Policy (“Policy”) sets out the rules for using the MySingleFriend mobile application (“App”), website (“Website”), and all related services (the “Service”). It forms part of our Terms of Service and applies to all users.
MySingleFriend exists to help real people find genuine connections through their friends. This policy exists to keep that environment safe, respectful, and enjoyable for everyone.
2. Be Real
MySingleFriend is for authentic, genuine people. You must:
- Use your real name and identity;
- Only upload photos and videos of yourself (no stock images, celebrity photos, or AI-generated content);
- Not impersonate any other person or create fake profiles;
- Not misrepresent your age, location, or other key personal information;
- Only maintain one active account.
3. Be Respectful
Treat everyone on the platform with dignity and respect. You must not:
- Harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, or threaten any person;
- Send abusive, hateful, or threatening messages;
- Use discriminatory language based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
- Body-shame, mock, or ridicule other users;
- Continue to contact someone who has asked you to stop or has blocked you;
- Pressure anyone into sharing personal information, meeting in person, or engaging in any activity they are uncomfortable with.
4. Content Standards
All content you share — including videos, photos, profile text, and messages — must comply with these standards. You must not post content that:
4.1 Sexual content
- Contains nudity or sexually explicit material;
- Is pornographic or depicts sexual acts;
- Contains unsolicited sexual messages or propositions;
- Depicts or promotes sexual exploitation.
4.2 Violent or harmful content
- Threatens or promotes violence against any person or group;
- Contains graphic or gratuitous violence;
- Glorifies self-harm or suicide;
- Promotes dangerous activities or challenges.
4.3 Hateful content
- Promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics;
- Uses slurs, dehumanising language, or hate symbols;
- Denies or trivialises well-documented historical atrocities.
4.4 Illegal content
- Promotes, solicits, or facilitates illegal activity;
- Relates to drug trafficking, firearms, or other controlled substances;
- Depicts or promotes the exploitation of minors in any form;
- Infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
4.5 Misleading content
- Spreads false, misleading, or deceptive information;
- Promotes conspiracy theories or health misinformation;
- Uses manipulated media (deepfakes) to deceive others.
5. Video Content Rules
Video is at the heart of MySingleFriend. Your video responses should be authentic, candid, and represent who you really are. Specifically:
- Videos must feature you — do not submit videos of other people as your own;
- Do not use pre-recorded clips from other sources, TV shows, or films;
- Do not include commercial advertising or promotions in your videos;
- Ensure anyone else who appears in your video has given their consent;
- Do not record or share other users’ videos outside the App without their explicit permission;
- Audio must not contain copyrighted music unless you hold the rights.
6. Friend Participation
If you are participating as a friend helping someone create their profile:
- Ask genuine, appropriate, and non-offensive questions;
- Do not include false, defamatory, or embarrassing information about the person;
- Respect their privacy — do not share information they have not consented to making public;
- Do not use the friend feature to harass or mock anyone;
- Do not create content designed to harm the person’s chances of finding a match.
7. No Commercial Use
MySingleFriend is for personal dating use only. You must not:
- Use the Service to advertise, promote, or sell products or services;
- Solicit other users for money, donations, or business opportunities;
- Promote social media accounts, websites, or external content for commercial purposes;
- Use the Service for recruiting, research, or data collection without our prior written consent;
- Operate the account on behalf of a business, brand, or organisation.
8. Platform Integrity
To keep the Service safe and fair for everyone, you must not:
- Use automated tools, bots, scripts, or scrapers to access or interact with the Service;
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or our infrastructure;
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App;
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or connected networks;
- Circumvent rate limits, security measures, or content moderation systems;
- Create multiple accounts to evade bans or restrictions;
- Distribute malware, viruses, or any malicious code through the Service;
- Exploit bugs or vulnerabilities rather than reporting them to us.
9. Scams & Financial Exploitation
We have zero tolerance for financial exploitation. You must not:
- Request money, gifts, or financial information from other users;
- Engage in romance scams or catfishing;
- Promote cryptocurrency schemes, investment opportunities, or get-rich-quick offers;
- Send phishing links or attempt to steal credentials;
- Impersonate MySingleFriend staff or representatives.
10. Off-Platform Behaviour
While we cannot monitor interactions outside the App, we take reports of off-platform behaviour seriously. If interactions that began on MySingleFriend lead to harassment, threats, stalking, or abuse in other settings (including in person, via text, or on social media), we may take action on your MySingleFriend account, including suspension or permanent removal.
11. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates this Policy, please report it immediately:
- In the App — Use the report button on any profile, message, or piece of content;
- By email — Contact [email protected] with details of the issue;
- Emergency situations — If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. We treat reports confidentially — the person you report will not be told who reported them.
12. Enforcement
We take violations of this Policy seriously. Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Warning — A formal notice that your behaviour has violated this Policy;
- Content removal — Removal of specific content that violates this Policy;
- Feature restriction — Temporary restriction of certain features (e.g. messaging);
- Temporary suspension — Your account is suspended for a defined period;
- Permanent ban — Your account is permanently removed from the Service;
- Law enforcement referral — In cases involving illegal activity, threats, or exploitation, we will report to the relevant authorities.
We reserve the right to take action at our sole discretion. Serious violations (threats of violence, exploitation of minors, scams) will result in immediate permanent removal without warning.
13. Appeals
If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you may appeal by emailing [email protected] with your account details and an explanation. We will review all appeals, though we are not obligated to reverse any decision.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or Website. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
