Terms of Service

Last updated: 11 March 2026

1. Introduction & Acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a legally binding agreement between you (“you”, “your”, “User”) and MySingleFriend Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (“MySingleFriend”, “we”, “us”, “our”). They govern your access to and use of the MySingleFriend mobile application (“App”), the website at mysinglefriend.app (“Website”), and all related services (collectively, the “Service”).

By creating an account, downloading the App, accessing the Website, or otherwise using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via the App, email, or a prominent notice on the Website at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher);
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under the laws of your country of residence;
  • Not have been previously banned, suspended, or removed from the Service by us;
  • Not be a registered sex offender in any jurisdiction;
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the above criteria. We reserve the right to request proof of age or identity at any time and to suspend or terminate accounts that fail to meet these requirements.

3. Your Account

3.1 Registration. You must create an account to use the Service. You may register using your email address or a supported third-party authentication provider (e.g. Apple Sign In, Google). You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary.

3.2 Security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must not share your account with anyone. You are liable for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorised by you. You agree to notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorised access.

3.3 One account per person. Each individual may only maintain one active account. Creating duplicate or additional accounts may result in suspension or permanent removal.

3.4 Account deletion. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon deletion, your profile, video content, messages, and associated data will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Deletion does not entitle you to a refund of any unexpired subscription period.

4. How the Service Works

4.1 Friend-initiated profiles. MySingleFriend is built around a unique concept: your friends help create your dating profile. A friend sends you a question via the App, and you reply with a short video answer. These candid, unscripted video responses form your profile and are visible to potential matches. You may also add photos and text to your profile.

4.2 Active profiles. Your profile becomes “active” and visible to other users once you have at least one completed friend-recorded video Q&A on your profile. Incomplete profiles (without any video content) may not appear in search results or be shown to potential matches.

4.3 Matching. The Service presents you with profiles of other users. You may express interest by “liking” a profile. If both users like each other, a “match” is created and messaging is enabled between them (subject to any applicable subscription limitations).

4.4 Real people only. MySingleFriend is a platform for genuine human connection. You must represent yourself truthfully. You must not impersonate another person, create fictitious profiles, or use the Service for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial dating.

5. Video Content

5.1 How video works. Friends ask you questions through the App, and you record short video answers. These videos are uploaded, processed, and displayed as part of your dating profile. Your friend may also appear in or be credited as the question-asker.

5.2 Consent. By recording and submitting video content, you confirm that: (a) you consent to it being displayed on your profile and shown to other users of the Service; (b) you have obtained the consent of any other identifiable person appearing in the video; and (c) the content does not infringe any third party’s rights.

5.3 Friend contributions. By inviting a friend to ask you a question, you acknowledge that their question and your video response will be displayed together on your profile. You may request removal of any specific video Q&A from your profile at any time through the App.

5.4 Video standards. All video content must comply with our content standards set out in Section 7 (Prohibited Conduct). Videos that are obscene, offensive, misleading, pre-recorded from other sources, or that contain commercial advertising will be removed. We reserve the right to review, moderate, and remove video content at our sole discretion.

5.5 Storage and processing. Videos are stored securely on our servers and may be transcoded, compressed, or otherwise processed to optimise delivery. We do not guarantee that videos will be stored indefinitely. If you delete your account, your video content will be permanently deleted in accordance with our data retention policies.

6. User Content & Intellectual Property

6.1 Your content. “User Content” means any content you create, upload, or share through the Service, including but not limited to video recordings, photographs, text, profile information, and messages. You retain ownership of your User Content.

6.2 Licence grant. By posting User Content, you grant MySingleFriend a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, distribute, display, and perform your User Content solely in connection with operating, improving, and promoting the Service. This licence ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, except where your content has been shared with other users and they have not deleted it, or where we are required by law to retain it.

6.3 Representations. You represent and warrant that: (a) you own or have all necessary rights to your User Content; (b) your User Content does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights; and (c) your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws.

6.4 Our intellectual property. The Service, including its design, features, code, branding, logos, and trademarks, is owned by MySingleFriend Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works based on any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

6.5 Feedback. If you provide suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the Service, you grant us an unrestricted, irrevocable, perpetual, royalty-free licence to use them for any purpose without compensation or attribution.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to, and must not permit or encourage any third party to:

  • Harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, threaten, abuse, or defame any person;
  • Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, or otherwise promotes violence or hatred;
  • Post sexually explicit, pornographic, or obscene content in videos, photos, or messages;
  • Upload content depicting minors in any context;
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, age, or affiliation;
  • Create fake, misleading, or fraudulent profiles;
  • Use the Service for commercial purposes, advertising, solicitation, or promotion of goods or services;
  • Send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited bulk communications;
  • Engage in, solicit, or facilitate any illegal activity;
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or any harmful code;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users’ accounts, or our infrastructure;
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools (including bots, spiders, or scrapers) to access, collect, or extract data from the Service;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or connected networks;
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security-related features of the Service;
  • Use another user’s account or share your account credentials;
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates these provisions, including removing content, issuing warnings, suspending or permanently terminating accounts, and reporting conduct to law enforcement.

8. Content Moderation & Reporting

8.1 Moderation. We employ a combination of automated tools and human review to moderate content on the Service. While we strive to maintain a safe environment, we cannot guarantee that all inappropriate content will be detected or removed promptly.

8.2 Reporting. If you encounter content or behaviour that violates these Terms, you can report it through the in-app reporting tools or by emailing [email protected]. We will review all reports and take action as we deem appropriate.

8.3 Removal. We may, at our sole discretion, remove or disable access to any User Content that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable. We are not obligated to provide notice or explanation for content removal, though we will endeavour to do so where practicable.

8.4 No obligation to monitor. We have no obligation to pre-screen, monitor, or review User Content, but we reserve the right to do so. You acknowledge that by using the Service you may be exposed to content that you find offensive or objectionable, and you use the Service at your own risk in this regard.

9. Subscriptions & Payments

9.1 Free tier. The Service offers a free tier that allows you to create a profile, browse profiles, watch videos, and send up to 3 likes per day. No credit card or payment information is required for the free tier. The free tier may be subject to additional limitations as described within the App.

9.2 Paid subscriptions. We offer paid subscription plans (“Premium”) that unlock additional features, including unlimited likes, unlimited messaging, the ability to see who has liked you, and other features as described on our Pricing page. Current plans include:

  • Weekly — £5.99 per week, billed weekly
  • Monthly — £19.99 per month, billed monthly

Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, but changes will not affect your current billing period.

9.3 Billing and payment. All payments are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (each a “Platform”). By subscribing, you authorise the applicable Platform to charge your chosen payment method. All billing, payment processing, refund requests, and payment disputes are governed by the terms of the relevant Platform.

9.4 Auto-renewal. All paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (weekly or monthly) at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can manage and cancel your subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings.

9.5 Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Premium features until the end of your current paid billing period. After that period expires, your account will revert to the free tier. Cancellation does not entitle you to a prorated refund for the remainder of the current billing period.

9.6 Refunds. Refunds are handled by the applicable Platform (Apple or Google) in accordance with their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact the relevant Platform’s support team.

9.7 Free trials and promotions. We may from time to time offer free trials or promotional pricing. Unless you cancel before the trial or promotional period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the standard rate. Trial eligibility is determined at our sole discretion and is limited to one trial per user.

9.8 Changes to plans. We reserve the right to modify, add, or discontinue subscription plans at any time. Any changes will be communicated in advance and will not affect existing active subscriptions until their next renewal date.

10. Friend Participation

10.1 Friends helping friends is free. The core feature of MySingleFriend — where friends ask you questions and you record video answers — is free and always will be. Friends who participate in creating your profile do not need a paid subscription to ask questions or contribute content.

10.2 Friend responsibilities. If you participate as a friend helping to create someone else’s profile, you agree to: (a) only ask appropriate, non-offensive questions; (b) respect the privacy and dignity of the person whose profile you are contributing to; (c) not include any false, misleading, or defamatory statements; and (d) comply with all content standards in these Terms.

10.3 Consent between friends. By inviting a friend to contribute to your profile, you confirm that you have their permission to send them an invitation through the App. The friend may decline the invitation at any time. You must not pressure, coerce, or harass anyone into participating.

11. Safety & Interactions with Other Users

11.1 No guarantees about users. We do not conduct criminal background checks, verify identities, or guarantee the behaviour, compatibility, or intentions of any user. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users, both online and offline.

11.2 Exercise caution. You should exercise caution and good judgement when communicating with other users and when meeting anyone in person. We strongly recommend meeting in public places, informing a trusted friend or family member of your plans, and taking appropriate safety precautions.

11.3 Blocking and reporting. You may block or report any user at any time through the App. Blocked users will not be able to contact you or view your profile. Reports will be reviewed by our moderation team.

11.4 Emergency situations. If you believe you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. MySingleFriend is not an emergency service and cannot respond to time-sensitive safety concerns.

12. Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and sharing of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Key points include:

  • We collect personal information necessary to provide the Service, including video content, profile data, and usage information;
  • We do not sell your personal data to third parties;
  • We do not serve advertising or use your data for ad targeting;
  • You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time;
  • We process data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

13. Suspension & Termination

13.1 Termination by you. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. This will permanently remove your profile, video content, and associated data (subject to our data retention obligations).

13.2 Termination by us. We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend or permanently terminate your account if:

  • You breach any provision of these Terms;
  • We are required to do so by law or legal process;
  • Your conduct creates risk or potential legal exposure for us, other users, or third parties;
  • Your account has been inactive for an extended period (we will provide notice before deleting inactive accounts);
  • We reasonably believe your account has been compromised.

13.3 Effect of termination. Upon termination: (a) your right to use the Service ceases immediately; (b) we may delete your account data, including User Content; (c) any outstanding subscription fees remain payable; and (d) provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply (including Sections 6, 9, 15, 16, 17, and 18).

13.4 Appeals. If you believe your account was wrongly suspended or terminated, you may appeal by contacting [email protected]. We will review all appeals but are not obligated to restore any account.

14. Third-Party Services & Links

The Service may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services (including the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and authentication providers). These third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of any third-party service, and your use of them is at your own risk.

15. Disclaimers

15.1 The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

15.2 We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free; (b) the results obtained from the Service will be accurate or reliable; (c) any defects will be corrected; or (d) the Service or its servers are free of viruses or other harmful components.

15.3 We do not guarantee that you will find a match, a date, or a relationship through the Service. Dating outcomes depend on many factors outside our control.

15.4 We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether online or offline. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any User Content.

15.5 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

16. Limitation of Liability

16.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall MySingleFriend Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, agents, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service;
  • Any conduct or content of any user or third party on the Service;
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data or transmissions;
  • Any interactions with other users, whether online or offline;
  • Any other matter relating to the Service.

16.2 Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you have paid to us in subscription fees in the 12 months preceding the claim; or (b) £100.

16.3 The limitations and exclusions in this section apply regardless of the theory of liability (whether contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

17. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MySingleFriend Ltd, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Service;
  • Your User Content;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any rights of a third party;
  • Your interactions with other users.

18. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

18.1 Governing law. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in these Terms shall deprive you of mandatory consumer protection rights under the laws of your country of residence.

18.2 Jurisdiction. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you are a consumer and are entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.

18.3 Informal resolution. Before commencing any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected]. We will endeavour to resolve any issues within 30 days.

19. Service Availability & Modifications

19.1 We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. We may experience downtime due to maintenance, updates, server failures, or causes beyond our control.

19.2 We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service (including features, functionality, and pricing plans) at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of significant changes that may affect your use of the Service.

19.3 We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

20. General Provisions

20.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MySingleFriend with respect to the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous agreements, understandings, or representations.

20.2 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original intent.

20.3 Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision. A waiver of any provision shall only be effective if made in writing and signed by an authorised representative of MySingleFriend.

20.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

20.5 No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not confer any rights or remedies on any third party, except as expressly stated herein.

20.6 Force majeure. We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of government, pandemics, labour disputes, internet failures, or cyberattacks.

20.7 Notices. We may send notices to you via the App, email, or by posting on the Website. Notices sent by email are deemed received on the day sent. You may send notices to us at the contact details below.
